Birthday & Starting Goodbyes

Tim's 2nd birthday in Australia was Saturday and we celebrated by going to the temple!  Afterwards, we went to the Pineapple, Piney to residents, and ate lunch.  We were planning on steaks but it just happened to be a footie game day for the Brisbane Lions and the Piney was packed.  They also were not serving steaks that day! We ordered roast rolls which we thought would be a roast beef plate but it ended up being a roast sandwich--with chips (french fries), of course.  Everything here is served with chips! Our chips are called crisps here but the one I can't get used to is cookies being called biscuits!  I made Tim a gf chocolate cake with German chocolate frosting--his favorite!  The cake mixes here come with a package of icing mix!

And the ice cream comes in tubs like this.

Now that we are experts on Australian groceries it's time to go home!  Check out the dry pinto beans here.

Well, I'm starting to take pictures of all the things I want to remember.  I've already packed up all of these things in our living room.

Our mission president said that we have to get released before we go touring so we contacted President Randy Powell of the Quailhill Stake and we have a zoom appointment with him to get released September 2, 2024.  Then we head to Sydney for a few days and then New Zealand for about a week before we fly home. It's sad to think we will never be in this part of the world again.  We went to the Chermside Ward where we spent the 1st year of our mission.  Took pictures of all my favorite people!

Three more Sundays until we get released.  Thank all of you for your prayers!  Love you!
