Welcome April!
While all of our American family and friends are preparing for spring, we are preparing for fall here in Australia. Not a lot happened this week except for some furniture deliveries.
The best news this week is that our replacement couple, Elder & Sister Hess, have been called! We saw them show up on our missionary portal and their arrival date was July 29, 2024 which was perfect because we finish on August 13, 2024. Then the very next day their arrival date was changed to August 14, 2024 which is the day AFTER we leave! Not good news. So only one option was viable and that was to extend our mission so we could train them. Not ideal for us but it will benefit them greatly. I've been working on notes and a housing tutorial since about our 3rd month here in the mission. I was determined that our replacements would not have it as hard as we did. Let's hope.
Lots of boxes with bedding arrived and it seems like we live at the mission home where they are stored. This is week 5 of 6 weeks so we're revving up for a transfer.
I was able to talk to my sister, Megan, for her birthday which fell on Easter this year! I was so surprised when she turned the camera around and there was my other sister, Marina & her husband; my niece, Jenni; my nephew, Karl and his wife and younger son; and my brother, Pauly and his wife! They were all together for Easter! What a treat!
