Last Week for the Bondies

We hit it hard this week since the Bondies were flying home to Hawaii on Thursday.  First off, Australia Zoo in Beerwah, north of us about an hour. This is the zoo Steve Irwin and his family started and it is absolutely beautiful.

I was so impressed by how clean and well kept it was. Even the dirt was raked!  Beautiful and lush plants and trees everywhere.

We got to see a cassowary up close.  It looks like a prehistoric ostrich.  We got to see a Tasmanian Devil in action.  He loved Naya who was up against the glass.  He just kept running back and forth about a yard in front of her.  I like their little fangs.  They're so ugly they're cute.

They had a huge stadium called the Crocoseum where they put on shows.  Also, impressive.  The birds were well trained and amazing.  Of course, the highlight were the crocodiles which Steve Irwin was famous for.  The Irwins actually live in the zoo but we weren't lucky enough to see any of them.  All in all a great day!  We were there the entire day and left just as it was starting to rain.

Rained pretty much all day Tuesday and then Wednesday we were ready for our last outing--
South Bank Parklands!  We went to the Brisbane letters, and the Wheel of Brisbane which the Bondies rode and then we went swimming at the pool there.  We ate at Mucho Mexicano and had some yummy food.  Then we ended with ice cream and the souvenir shop just like in the "Ice Cream" episode of Bluey which is set at South Bank.

We were so blessed to have family here in Brisbane!  We hope they had the time of their life.  Love you all!
