The Birds of Paradise are Back!
I'm so excited these beauties are back! They all burned up--they were actually black--and died awhile back so I'm glad they're in bloom again. They are sooo beautiful. These were at our chapel today!
These are the Assistants to the President and the Office Elders. The one in the middle, Elder Harry Roberts, finished his mission last week and went home to Melbourne or Melbin as he corrected us. :D Left to right are Elder Hacking, Office; Elder Hamilton, AP; Elder Roberts, AP; Elder Tapasa, Office; and Elder Brown, Office, my 2nd cousin, 4 times removed! We enjoy working with these fine young men.
Transfers were this week and we were finished by 12 noon so that's ALWAYS a win! It was especially hot down in the underground car park! Just one more month of killer heat/humidity combo and then the next three seasons are LOVELY! Summer is the rainy season here so we do get a reprieve from the heat. Locals say this summer is unusually hot for Brisbane! Lucky us!
Last Monday was the 100th anniversary of my father's birth. He was born in 1924 just like President Nelson! I posted this fun pic of our family, circa 1952. My mother is pregnant with my sister, Megan, in this picture. I was still 7 years away!
Tim has been working hard trying to pare the repair list down--he even mowed and painted this week! We are also getting ready for a new couple this Tuesday, a new Financial Secretary the 12th, and another couple on the 14th! We're setting up an apartment for the 2nd couple here at our apartment complex on Buxton. We've never set up a flat for a couple before so it's been fun.
Our one year mission anniversary is next Tuesday! It has gone really fast and I can only imagine the next 6 months are going to fly! Hope you are all well. Love you all. Drink some hot cocoa for me with marshmallows. 💖
