Out with the Old and in with the New
We've been getting ready for our new couple, the Perkins, here on Buxton Street. Our senior sisters moved into a bigger flat less than two miles away and now we are preparing their old flat. The old leather couch, ottoman and chairs they left weren't good enough for them to take to their new place so we figured they weren't good enough for the Perkins either. We also had an extra super small couch which was very hard that we wanted to give away. I got on Facebook marketplace and had the old furniture given away and picked up in two days! A couple we know, the Torales, from Brisbane Ward took the couch and ottoman. They are from Equador and are expecting their first child, Martina!
Our mini couch, I put that it was suitable for children or pets on the listing! The seat was only 39 cm high which is 15.35 inches high!
We saved the dining table and chairs and we had a bookcase that matched it so we took that over there and got another bookcase. I think I've said before that we've never set up a flat for a couple so this was all new to us. We had to order a queen size bed and a sofa. The rest we were able to transport ourselves from Ikea. The sofa was from Ikea too but they had to deliver it from their warehouse.
Tim has been busy putting all the new furniture together including but not limited to: sofa, nightstands, dresser, desk, arm chairs, and desk chairs. It is a two bedroom flat with two bathrooms and all of the couples get two twins beds in their extra room for their company or missionaries that occasionally stay over. We set up the two twins today. Friday we went shopping for bedding and were blessed enough to find it all in the store we were picking up an order from! We are almost finished--they come on Wednesday, the 14th, Valentine's Day.
Setting up a flat is hard work! We're pooped but here is the end result. It's not the Hilton but it's comfortable. :D
