Happy New Year!
I was so excited about the new year that I was sending Happy New Year texts to all of my family! Of course it was only New Years Eve for them. One of the senior couples had a little party but Tim had just travelled that day and was tired and we were travelling again the next day so I wanted to stay home. The Lord Mayor of Brisbane had fireworks and a drone show in the city.
I got an email from the auditor who came in December. She reminded me I needed to update all of the contracts on the mission software program (IMOS). We have 96 flats now so I had started on them but it was going very slowly. I had to call Salt Lake for help twice which is tricky with the 16 hour difference! I have to call first thing in the morning before they go home! The program wouldn't let me enter the new start and ending dates and the solution was to enter the ending date first, save it, then go back in and enter the starting date and save it. So basically, I had to put everything in twice on each flat! Took for--e--ver.
This week, we finished setting up Tweed Heads including a portable air conditioner! One of our senior missionaries over that area , Elder Kerlatec, came and helped us which was awesome. The same day we got the keys for our new flat in Mermaid Waters--it's a granny flat. In America we call them mother-in-law suite or apartment. It is very nice and we're hoping to split up 4 sister missionaries who only have one bathroom!
Tim travelled every single day this week for something or another. He delivered stuff, picked up stuff, took stuff to the dump and then we had flat inspections on Friday! Feels like we're always behind.
Tim found a great flat for our new missionary couple, the Perkins, he's the mental health specialist. Right after Tim found it, the Perkins requested very few stairs. The flat he found was a townhouse so we decided to switch them with the senior sisters on Buxton Street. The new flat has 3 bedrooms which the president wanted the sisters to have so it all worked out. The Perkins will now be at the flats we're in. I'm looking forward to getting to know them better.
I've been ordering stuff for apartments constantly for about two weeks now with three flats to furnish: washers, dryers, refrigerators, furniture, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, kitchen dishes and accessories, etc. Some days my head feels like it's going to fly off my body! I'm still trying to not overdo it but it's hard when we have so much to do! I've cut back where I can and take a nap every day. :D
Hope you all have a great new year--the possibilities are endless! I'm excited our study this year is the Book of Mormon--it's my favorite! Love you and miss you!
