Week 2 With the Kims!
NOTICE: I've lost my photos for now--will insert when my phone gets fixed.
This week was Week 1 in our schedule which meant transfers! We were glad to have the Kims there to help with crowd control. We stationed them at the entrance of the parking garage under Kangaroo Point chapel and the temple. They directed the cars to go a certain way to unload all of their luggage before parking. It was chaotic as usual but much better than it used to be. We were finished by about 11:30 am. I was excited to use a megaphone to communicate with all the missionaries and it worked really good--we didn't have to walk around and yell out their names! Transfers are always a looooong day.
We slowed down a little this week. Tim and I went to the office some and Lar and Dave ventured out on their own. They rode the train down to South Bank again to swim.
Wednesday, we went on a little outing to Wave Break Island. There we kayaked to a small island (not far) and then we hiked to another side of the island to snorkel. We got super sunburned even after using sunscreen. There weren't that many fish but it was fun to snorkel.
Friday night, Tim and the Kims went to King George Square to see a light show and then they went over to Queen Street to watch some Christmas performances. I stayed home so I could save my energy for Saturday.
On Saturday, we boarded a ferry and went to Stradbroke Island--Straddie. We walked the trail and saw spectacular views of the ocean and took lots of pictures. Then we caught a bus to a beach where we could swim. The weather was perfect that day and I took an innertube to float around in. That night, we boarded the City Cat to show the Kims the city by night! It's very different at night and much more beautiful. All in all a very enjoyable day.
Today, Tim spoke in church and talked about his most memorable Christmas. It took place in Jerusalem which made it extra special. He did a good job and mentioned our family nativity tradition.
