Pigs, Flats, Cockatoos and Happy Eggs

Thank you all for helping us pray for a housing miracle.  Tim has found 5 flats so far!  This week we went 3 hours north to set up a flat in Kingaroy.  The van was bursting at the seams as usual.  On these long trips we pass the time listening to conference talks.  We saw a lot of cattle and fruit stands selling strawberries, mandarins and blueberries!  At one point I saw some cows that looked weird--they were PIGS the SIZE of a cow!  Some were black and some were red and they had a white stripe around them--Hampshire pigs.  They were huge!

Setting up the flat went well.  Assembling the furniture takes the longest which Tim does not enjoy.  I've started taking a pillow and a blanket so I can rest while he finishes putting furniture together.  These trips wear me out.

We've broken most of them into two parts.  Part 1:  collect keys from realtor, fill out the Entry Report, unpack the van and set up.  Part 2:  on another day, Tim will go back with another senior missionary and finish any assembly of furniture and receive delivery of refrigerator, washer and dryer which I order online.  The company we use gives us a 2-hr. delivery window and then a half-hour window estimated time of arrival.  It's nice not to have to wait all day for them to deliver.  They also haul off the old appliances that are being replaced.  (not necessary for new flats)

On the way home, we passed a park that had a huge flock of birds feeding there.  They were gray but had red on their upper bodies.  They were the size of pigeons but they weren't shaped like pigeons or other birds--their necks were fat.  When I looked them up they were cockatoos! This picture is just one group but they were everywhere eating something yummy in the grass. A flock of cockatoos! An Australian wonder.  Awesome!

Tim bought some eggs the other day which weren't the usual brand we buy but they were the only ones left.  Upon inspection, we saw that they all had smiley faces!  So funny.  They also have some other stuff stamped on them.  They claim their chickens are happier and have 6x more space than the national free range standard.  I'm "cracking" up!  And if that's not enough, they have a QR code where you can go see their chickens on the live cam!  Yep, they look happy. :D

P.S. All the eggs here are brown--nary a white egg to be found.
