Planes, Trains and Automobiles

This is BNE or the Brisbane International Airport. We spend a lot of time here!  We pick up missionaries and drop off missionaries.  Transfer week, Week 1, is the busiest but there are arrivals
off-transfer too.  For example, we just picked up a golden from Pakistan!  She is very sweet.

Tim actually got to pick up a general authority, Elder Natress--he had just spoken in general conference about a young man named Danny.  Elder Natress was on his way to Vanuatu to break ground for their temple! This is my favorite sister--she's from Vanuatu and every time she gets a new golden to train they get to stay with us.  She doesn't drive since they are not many cars in Vanuatu so we get to give the golden driving-on-the-left lessons.  Since the turning signals are on the right side of the steering wheel we often accidentally hit the left side which is the windshield wipers!  Elder Natress called it the "American Wave" when Tim accidentally did it! 😂

Last Saturday we hopped on a train to the city.  The end of the line for the train is just a block or two from our flat.  Check out the funky names of the suburbs--they love double oo's here!

We were just out for a ride but then at the end of the line in the city they made everybody get off!  We were close to South Bank where they have lots of entertaining things and a ferris wheel!  We walked around and bought some jewelry then got back on the train.  So nice not to have to drive.  I thought the route would be more scenic but like most city train rides, all we saw was the back of buildings and a lot of graffiti!

I've mentioned before that we drive a van.  I thought, "Why do we need a van?"  Now I know why!  We transport a lot of people and their luggage, we transport lots of furniture and beds and even bicycles! One day last week we spent 10 hours in the van travelling and delivering and buying and inspecting flats!  Looooong day.
