Flats, Food and General Authority
This week was full of furnishing new flats, good food and even a General Authority! Elder Bond found two new flats in Enoggera and Nambour. Next, we have to furnish them so off we go to Ikea for desks and dressers and kitchen tables and chairs, etc. Poor Elder Bond, he has to put them all together! Ready-made furniture is too expensive so we rely heavily on Ikea--we have two Ikeas here. Yay! Then we go to Kmart or Big W (like Walmart) for all the small appliances, hangers, kitchen tools, dishes, etc. Another day we travel to the flat, pick up the keys from the agent and start to put it all together. We buy singles bed 10 at a time and keep them in a storage unit. I order large appliances like refrigerators, washers and dryers and have them delivered. With two units needing to be furnished at the same time we've had to split each setup into two days!
We're finally getting used to cooking in Australia! Without the same ingredients or stoves it's been a challenge. One thing I love about Australia is that they roast their vegetables in the oven. They also serve like 6 vegetables at every meal! The drinks are yummy too! Agrum is my favorite drink which is carbonated and made from blood oranges. These are vegies we roasted.
And last, but definitely not least, we were privileged to pick up Elder and Sister K. Brett Nattress and take them to the airport. He is a General Authority Seventy and president of the Pacific Area. Sister Natress took this picture of us!
The Nattresses were wonderful and so appreciative--He even opened the car door for me! That was such a blessing for me to meet them. (It was Elder Bond's second time.)
