Father's Day

Today is Father's Day in America but not in Australia.  They celebrate Father's Day the first Sunday in September.  I guess Tim will get 2 Father's Days this year.  I've been thinking a lot about my own father lately and can't believe it will be 25 years since he passed this August. He was a stake missionary all of his married life and he always encouraged us to be missionaries and good examples.  I miss him, I miss his advice, I miss his voice.  

Then there's my husband, Tim, the father of my children.  I'm thankful for him because he's steady, reliable and faithful.  He made us a beautiful home to raise our family in and he provided for us.  He's always been really good with numbers and finances and he made so many of our dreams come true including a college education for each of us!  He made moving to Utah to be near my family a reality and he faithfully takes me to the temple. He made this mission possible.

And then there's my first Father, Father in Heaven.  I'm thankful that He trusted me enough to send me here to earth.  I'm thankful that I was sent to a family that belonged to the restored church of Jesus Christ. I'm thankful that He watches over me and loves me unconditionally.  He has come to my aid many, many times and that is how I know he is mindful of me and knows who I am.  I want to go back home to Him more than anything else.  I love Him.
