Koalas and Kangaroos! Finally!

Well, we finally ventured out to have some fun!  President Vongsawad told us to get out every now and then and see Australia!  The first thing I wanted to see was koalas! We went to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Fig Tree Pocket (the name of the town!) about half an hour south of us.  We took two other senior missionary couples with us and had a good day.  We saw colorful lorakeets and they let us hold feeders where the birds flocked down to eat! We walked around and saw lots of animals: some very common like chickens and sheep and some very uncommon like wombats and Tasmanian Devils!

An amazing couple in our ward, the Antuars, invited several of us missionary couples over for supper.  He is a great cook and we had roasted chicken, corned beef and roasted vegetables.  Roasted vegetables seem to be a thing over here and I love them!

We learn more every day and try to do our job but our job keeps growing. And then there are the emergencies.  One companionship of elders locked themselves out of the flat twice in two weeks!  They live an hour away so that's a two hour trip for us.  Normally, the senior couple over them has extra keys and would help them but the couple over this area ended their mission this month!

Love you all, hope you are well.
